Dunno, maybe it's just me, but does it seem that the tone around Daily Kos has changed -- pretty dramatically -- since the Occupy Movement started? I get the feeling that the infighting has nearly disappeared, the name calling is gone and there's a sense of hope (real hope) and excitement that hasn't been seen since 2008 or so.
By the way, I don't want to ignore the role that President Obama has played in all of this. He certainly was the target of our community's frustration for quite a while, but that also seems to have turned around. He began hitting a much more populist note just before Occupy got going and he deserves credit for that. Also in his defense, I can't remember any President running into the kind of stone wall the Repubs have constructed, not in my lifetime.
So if you don't mind me being a bit of a Pollyanna, let's keep fighting the good fight, on the Occupy front and the political front as well. With our genuine, powerful grassroots movement gaining increasing traction and with candidates like Elizabeth Warren and -- yes -- Barack Obama, there may be real reason for hope this year, and for years to come.
