On Monday, I noted some inconsistencies in Tarryl Clark's record, one of them being her residency in the 8th Congressional District. Various rumors have been flying around the district for months and in an attempt to resolve the issue, I decided to contact the auditor's office to verify that Clark is registered to vote in Duluth. For the first time in the city's history we have an opportunity to have a female majority on the council, and I reasoned that under these circumstances Clark would certainly have voted in the September primary.
I was wrong.
A visit to the St. Louis County Auditor's office on Tuesday morning revealed that Tarryl Clark isn't even registered to vote in the City of Duluth. Voter records reveal that Clark registered to vote in St Cloud W4 P7 in 1994 and that registration is still active. The last time she voted was in the general election in November 2010.
Clark stated last May that she and her husband had purchased a condominium in Duluth. As previously noted, there are no records of this purchase and to date Clark has not indicated the record is incorrect. This latest discovery that she wasn't registered to vote in a primary she encouraged Duluthians to vote in via facebook raises a serious question as to how truthful she has been with the citizens of northern Minnesota and how much of a commitment she actually has to the region.
Tarryl, you've got some 'splainin to do!
