I was moving my money today, opening a credit card with a local credit union so that I can close my Chase credit card.
After applying for the new credit card, I walked past the Bank of America next door and I couldn't help but feel that moving my money was not enough. What were all those people doing in the branch. Hadn't they heard? Well, they were going to hear it now.
Standing on the sidewalk, without entering their property, I pulled the door open and said in a pleasant, non-agressive and friendly but very LOUD voice:
"Your attention please! This bank is run by crooks. Please move your money to a credit union or community bank. The 5th of November is move your money day. Thank you for your attention and have a nice day".
I didn't take a step inside, and I was done in less than 10 seconds, not enough time for any "ruckus".
It was exhilarating. Some of the customers smiled. One gave me a thumbs up. The tellers looked dumbfounded.
It was also addictive. I went next door to the Chase bank and repeated the drill.
Then into the Safeway, where the Wells Fargo is. Then the mall next door. I "hit" about a dozen banks in an hour.
Simple, direct and oh so satisfying.
I'm making a little flyer with a link to http://moveyourmoneyproject.org/ so that I can repeat tomorrow [flyer below]
EDIT: Here's a US-letter sized flyer, can be printed 2-per-page side by side
