I need to make a TRMS diary announcement that hopefully won't lead to massive wailing & gnashing of teeth. No, it's not going away! :D
However, this diary is going to be on hiatus during the time I have to register freshmen for their spring classes at my job. From Wednesday, November 9 through Thursday, November 17, I have to be at work, awake, functional, and ready to go at 7:00 a.m. AND, those days, I'll working until around 5:45 in the evening. So, for the sake of my health, my sanity (such as it is), and me being as non - grumpy as possible for the people who have to be around me during this time, TRMS diaries are going on hiatus for the sake of sleep. The Countdown diaries will continue during this time. So, again, there will be TRMS diaries "as usual" until Wednesday of next week, and they will resume again Friday, November 18. Clear as mud? :D
Let's move onto "this day in history." On this date in 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson soundly defeated Republican challenger Barry Goldwater to win a White House term in his own right. In today's GOBP, Senator Goldwater would be a dirty stinkin' librul hippie! Since the rest of the "this day in history" cupboard is pretty damn bare, let's remind ourselves of what Network predicted years ago.
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
Yes, I'll be ditching the Michael Moore portion of the show.
"A Little Less Conversation" - Mittens claimed to a NH newspaper editorial board that he's been consistent in his policy positions. Did anyone in that room lose in fighting the urge to laugh or retch?! Jon Huntsman's still running? And Rachel, did you REALLY need to bring up the image of him campaigning nekid??!! He's bringing out the Mittens - ain't - exactly - consistent ads big time. Mittens talked to local FL media yesterday about tax cuts; his GOBP isn't the party of tax cuts for the rich. Huh! I did not know that! Was that in the papers? ;D Mittens might do himself a service to shut the spark up & let the rest of the GOBP clown car destroy each other. Governor Secessions' still insisting he wasn't drunk or high last weekend in NH. There might be some ill wind in the "Herb" Cain campaign, too, but I'm not sure. ;D Rachel's number of women in the "Herb" scandal is 6?! Where are all these different numbers coming from? Mr. Marlboro Man Wanna Be is tied very heavily & significantly to the Kochtopus in Fitzwalkerstan. Mystery donors have funded the first few months of "Herb"'s campaign; since then, it's been Americans for Prosperity (aka the Kochtopus). Rachel thinks the GOBP nomination is Mittens to lose. You know who I think will be the nominee. ;)
"A Little Less Conversation Part Deux" - Oh, I cannot WAIT to hear how Michael Steele's going to defend "Herb." ;D There was a vetting process in the GOBP? Since when?! There wasn't any vetting for $aint $arah from Wasilla! "Herb"'s really got no "traditional" campaign structure. What Mr. Steele's conveniently forgetting is that the average donor to the Obama campaign in 2008 was a couple hundred dollars. So much for that "big money donor" $hit that Rachel should've called him on!! The top 2 GOBP are giving a speech for the Kochtopus instead of at some St. Ronnie event in IA. Hello?! And, Mr. Steele thinks Mittens is doing just fine in his local media events, thank you very much! Geez...
"Youngstown Division Accomplished" - Youngstown, OH has the highest concentration of poverty in the entire country. Seeing where it is & knowing what parts of the economy have taken the hardest hits over the years, I can see why. Rep. Tim Ryan's pleading his case for his district to an empty House, I'd wager. Yep, I was correct.
"Debunktion Junction" - Congressional cops defeated members of Congress and former NFL players that were ringers - DUDE!
