Occupy Wall Street was organized, behind the scenes, by defunct and dissolved Acorn but President Obama started it and Occupy Atlanta enjoys a pertnership with the Nation Of Islam.
I am not confused. These allegations and more all come from republicans who are all too eager to define and slur a populist movement that could cost them dearly in terms of money and power. Since they have no ability to confront and debate the movement, they are resigned to using fear and slur. The movement is dangerous say Gulliani and others. It is class warfare say others. They are meaningless. They are losers. They are socialists. They just want our money say others. It's a mob said many.
Yet, even though Occupy has focused national attention on the corruption of wall street that illegally sucked so much money up that those pushed down no longer have sufficient funds to sustain the econmy, republicans oppose any effort to regulate and reform wall street.
Yet, even though occupy has focused national attention on tax codes that allowed the illicit movement of money upwards, republicans oppose any tax reform that would prevent illicit movement upward and the unfair push downward that results from it.
Yet, even though Occupy has focused national attention on jobs, economy, foreclosures, infrastructure and other matters that sorely need legislation, republicans pushed legislation that elevates "in god we trust" above "e pluribus unim" as our nation's motto. Now they want to add a prayer to the WW II memorial.
I will note that republicans also pushed 44 bills on abortion, 99 bills on religion, 71 bills on family, and 36 bils on marriage; all sourced from christian dogma.
Please consider why this flourish of bills respecting an establishment of religion is more important to right wing republicans than creating jobs, controlling wall street and using a balanced approach to increase revenue and cut spending to reduce the federal deficit.
