You may remembera few months back when I told of author, commentator, and progressive talk station owner Stephen King's rant against the tea party:
The Video can be seen here:
Cliff Notes:
He is rich and glad, because he grew up poor and his mom was turned down for government food assistance by republicans.
He also states that if you like weekends, 40 hour workweeks, fair wages, etc, then you need to support the union.
Says his tax rate is 26? (maybe 30ish percent) and that it should be at least 50, so he and his wife make up the difference by donating the other 25 percent to schools, libraries, radio, etc.
Well now King has come out again slamming the wealthy 'job creators' and warning of the loss of the middle class:
It’s time for the wealthy to pay their fair share before the middle class becomes the forgotten class. And it’s time for the banks to give back what they were given. There are those in politics, particularly those on the conservative side, who can’t get enough of telling people that the wealthy one per cent must not be taxed because doing so kills jobs. The real job-killers are corporate greed and political expediency. It’s time for working people in Maine and all across the country to take back the American dream.”
