5:56 PM PT: So there's a couple more minutes in the live broadcast. So far, I believe the candidates have gotten about 6 minutes (including questions) on average.
5:57 PM PT: Rick Perry said Israel would begin at zero, but that he thinks they'd have a good case to make. He says he wants "zero-based budgeting" across the government in every agency.
5:58 PM PT: And with that 30 second answer, the first hour of the debate is over. Total fail from CBS. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint will be asking questions when we're back from break.
5:59 PM PT: Here's the link for watching online if you were watching on TV.
6:00 PM PT: CBS has managed to put about 10 minutes of commercials in this broadcast (I'm now watching online).
6:02 PM PT: My live feed is somewhat spotty here. I wonder if they are getting a rush of people logging on. It's somewhat unwatchable, though I think Michele Bachmann is taking a page from Mitt Romney and proposing privatization of veterans benefits.
6:04 PM PT: It's freezing for other people too. I'm only getting a few words of the debate now. Totally unwatchable. Though I did get a priceless moment where Scott Pelley said "Mr Cain will you tell us what's happening?" and then Cain said "What's happening."
6:04 PM PT: Screw this. I cannot watch it. The feed is horrible. Major fail by CBS.
6:06 PM PT: I won't be able to continue liveblogging—the feed is horrible, at least here in the New Orleans suburbs on Charter internet. We'll still post some threads for those of you who can tune in, though.
