Last night Eureka, CA police tore down Occupy signs, injured and arrested at least one peaceful demonstrator. Another demonstrator was also injured. I received email from Jack Nounnan of Occupy Eureka this AM with details and video, he asked me to post it here for Kossacks who would like to help.
Occupy Eureka's news and the video are below. They ask people to call the Eureka police and, if you are in the area, come to 5th & I to support OE. Or, go to the Courthouse tomorrow beginning at noon. See info from Occupy Eureka below.

Two Protestors Injured Last Night Near 'Occupy' Eureka
One woman was injured near Occupy Eureka this evening when allegedly her head was smashed through the window of a local business by two outside agitators.
During this incident Officer Sanchez continued to demand protest signs be removed as he sat in his cruiser. She was bleeding from the neck and was examined by paramedics, but has not sought further medical attention at this time.
In video evidence, the woman can be seen approaching Eureka Police Department Officer Sanchez who was in his cruiser verbally harassing protestors across the street. The assaulted woman received no assistance from EPD, instead, Sanchez turned his attention to ripping down Occupy Eureka banners and was quickly aided with at least 10 EPD and Humboldt County Sheriffs.
EPD officers arrested Hans Ashbaucher, who was legally filming. During the arrest, Hans was thrown to the ground. Onlookers reported seeing him repeatedly kneed in the ribs by EPD officers who refused to give their names or badge numbers.
The Sergeant emphasized that Hans had been taken to the hospital upon arrest, and since released to the jail.
We have an account from Hans that NO TREATMENT was issued at the hospital. This implies that he has yet to be attended to or treated by medical staff since his injury by Eureka Police.
At 5:50 you can hear Hans saying "He took my camera!"
Occupy supporters are reviewing further video evidence of tonight's events. We are requesting that people call the jail at 707-441-5123 to demand that Hans be given proper medical treatment IMMEDIATELY for the injuries he sustained at the hands of police this evening. He must also be allowed visits from lawyers in a timely manner.
UPCOMING EVENT--NOON MONDAY
We will be holding a noon rally at the courthouse on Monday in solidarity with Verbena Lea, a local community activist who was also arrested while lawfully filming police on November 10. (She has organized outreach surrounding the case of Martin Cotton, where a federal judge found Eureka Police liable for Martin's death and awarded approximately 4.5 million in damages to the Cotton family.) We demand her release and an end to targeted arrests of activists exercising their first amendment rights to peacefully observe police response.
