Yep, today is Hump Day & a day I felt like the humpee instead of the humper - AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY! *&^%$#@! Hopefully, some Countdown will cheer me up a bit.
But first, some "this day in history" items are on deck. On this date in 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th state. The next day, Senator Jim Inhofe celebrated by crashing a plane. ;D On this date in 1966, Dr. Samuel H. Sheppard was acquitted in his second trial on charges of murdering his pregnant wife, Marilyn, in 1954. His life ended very sadly, and his son, to this day, believes his father was innocent.
A couple notable actors slipped the bonds of this planet on this date but in different years. Clark Gable died in 1960; William Holden died in 1981. I don't think the 2 of them were in a movie together, so y'all get to enjoy a couple clips! :D
Let's Countdown...
And, we're back to no tie tonight for the Keithster; I guess he felt since he'd be "addressing" New York City's mayor last night, he should dress up for the affair? ;D
#5 "Occupy Day 61" AKA "Occupy Wall Street" AKA "Pepper Spray Victim" - An 84 - year old woman, a pregnant woman, and a minister were pepper - sprayed in Seattle last night - sadly, no, not the beginning of 1 of those "bar jokes." I thought the Pacific NW was supposed to be a bastion of tolerance & stuff! 6 others were arrested in Seattle last night. Occupy Baltimore tapped into "Bush's Brain" last night, and TurdBlossom did NOT like it. :D And, how 'bout that My Favorite Year recall, everybody?! :D Oh by the way, TurdBlossom, you must have been absent from civics class the day the Constitution was covered because THAT is what gives the 99%ers the right to occupy. Just because you & your peeps made it into terlet paper for the Oval Office bathroom doesn't mean you completely killed it! The Zuccotti library was drastically reduced in the recovery. Occupy Boston got a bit of a legal victory today. Occupy Wall Street & other protestors are gearing up for lots of "action" tomorrow. Look at Scott Olsen! :D Dorli Rainey sounds quite spry, boys & girls! It sounds like she's been protesting for a long time. :) There were lots of helicopters over Seattle last night; it sounds like sparking Saigon or something! It sounds like she got sprayed on her way out. It looks like Seattle has pepper spray fire extinguishers - $HIT! She was saved from being trampled by an Iraq War vet. What happened to Dorli was quite an education to a bus full of people! I should think so! She grew up in Nazi Germany - wow. So, she's seen her share of thugs. She had some things to say about the state of our media, too! :D
#4 "Cuffed" AKA "Unlawful Arrest?" - A NYC city councilman was beat up the other night in Zuccotti Park by NYPD, arrested, and held for 17 hours without access to his lawyer. Nearly 48 hours later, Mayor Putz hasn't said a thing about it. Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez was the lucky soul, and he's in studio tonight. The NYPD commissioner has been silent, as well. He only wanted to observe the other night; he wasn't planning to be carted off & beat up! Councilman Rodriguez thinks Occupy will keep growing. Mayor Putz probably thinks he put the kibosh on Occupy Wall Street because of his little stunt the other night; me thinks he'll be proven WRONG. If Mayor Putz is so disconnected, why do NYC residents keep re - electing him?!
"Time Marches On!" - A dog & parrot shared some pasta; yea, I'm rooting for the doggie. KITTY!! :D A kitty answered the phone when the mother just wouldn't stop ringing. Davy Crockett witnessed a robbery in FL.
#3 "Mind the Gap" AKA "Losing the Middle" - The Super Congress is racing toward a deadline next week that'll probably be missed, so the disappearing middle class will get the brunt of their sparking up. The Progressive Caucus had a little meeting about job creation. Most neighborhoods are either very poor or very rich - not a whole lot of middle ground there. Rep. Raul Grijalva was in that meeting today. We are heading for a permanent "under class." Occupy is all about fairness - NOT about trashing the rich. Keith, of course, asked Rep. Grijalva about Gabby Giffords. :D
WPITW - BillO is still defending his work of fiction concerning the Lincoln assassination by smacking down Senator Franklin (?). OK! He's also saying that Ford's Theatre IS selling his book. Rep. Hal Rogers' committee has declared pizza a vegetable. Well duh! ;D Mrs. "Herb" Cain had to think a bit about whether her Hubby would be a good POTUS. ;D
#1 "None of the Above" - Well, so much for Newt the Nazi Lover being the flavor of the month...after years of trashing Freddie Mac & demanding jail for Congress critters who associated with them, it's been revealed that Newt didn't mind taking over $1 million FROM FREDDIE MAC! "Gingrich Group" got the money - not Newt. So, is there another Gingrich in charge of that group? ;D "Herb" knows his Iran typography. O...K... He supposedly offered the SOS job to Henry Kissinger - since he did so well with Vietnam. David Letterman got into "Herb"'s mind & lived to tell the tale! WHOA! Our Great Orange Satanic Leader's in studio!! WOW!!! "Herb"'s not supposed to know anything about foreign policy, don't ya' know! Markos thinks perhaps the GOBP clown car really doesn't know how bat$hit its base is. I think they do & don't care. They will be used for a purpose & up to a point then be ditched when they are beyond their usefulness.
