This topic has already been diaried. I will delete this diary because, after writing the diary, adding links and thoughtful analysis and hitting "publish" I discovered that while I was writing it, someone else already wrote a diary on the same subject. I discovered this because a purity troll with a low UID told me so in the comments. So I will delete it.

My diary contains critical analysis that rubs the mainstream of Daily Kos the wrong way. It follows all the site rules, but people "ain't gonna like it". Someone asks in the comments "How does this mesh with the Daily Kos agenda of electing more and better Democrats?" and then that person rec's a pootie diary.

So I write a diary about the #OWS movement that opines about what will happen if the State continues to use excessive force to suppress it. I am called out for supporting violent revolution because I wonder, out loud, if the State is trying to provoke violence on the part of protesters. I wonder, commenter accuses me of advocating it.

I have seen all of this in the last few days. My plea to this community: NO MORE PURITY TROLLING. Hey. We're all Socialist F*#ksticks together. Put your energy into something more productive, like killing the internet censorship bills.
Hauling out the site rules on a selective basis is a really crass action. It's the kind of thing a junior high principal would do. Please, cut it out. If you disagree, do it right--just say so.

9:28 AM PT: UPDATE: I am now officially a Kossack who can f@rt and end up on the Wreck List. Oh, dear! /snark

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
