This can be an open thread, if you want.
According to live coverage on KTLA Channel 9, a CBS affiliate tv station, the LAPD are grouping near Dodger Stadium which is adjacent to the Police Academy and about 3.5 miles from City Hall.
There are aerial shots of numerous MTA public buses lined up there. The plan seems to be to arrest people and take them up to the Dodger Stadium area for processing. About 10-12 cops are getting on each of the buses to go down to City Hall, apparently. First one is moving now.
About an hour or so ago there was a lot of police siren noise going toward downtown on Sunset Blvd. There are MANY police cars lined up at Dodger Stadium, apparently the cops parking there and getting ready to go down to the Occupy encampment on the buses.
BTW, that encampment is across the street from LAPD HQ on 1st and Spring.
The mayor supposedly decided to close it down because he heard there were children staying in the encampment.
More over the squiggle--
About 10 people are saying they will be ok with being arrested. Most aren't interested in that and some are packing up to leave.
There will be more tonight, we're pretty sure.
Anybody who knows something, please contribute !
