Here at Top Comments we strive to nourish community by rounding up some of the site's best, funniest, most mojo'd & most informative commentary, and we depend on your help!! If you see a comment by another Kossack that deserves wider recognition, please send it to topcomments at gmail by 9:30pm Eastern. Please please please include a few words about why you sent it in as well as your user name (even if you think we know it already :-)), so we can credit you with the find!
NOTE: Bowing to that newfangled DK4 stuff :-), you also may send nominations to the Top Comments group email. If you don't see a nomination you made to there in the diary, please pipe up - it means we're still trying to remember not to forget to check!
Pardon tonite's brevity, it wasn't until after 9:30 that I realized no one had volunteered for tonite's diary. Follow me below the dingledoodlesquiggliedividerthingie fold...
It's been a busy weekend at Casa Brillig. K1 is swimming in a very large, very crowded, very intense meet this weekend. Our swim team hosts the event, meaning we're all very involved in making it a success. I've baked food for the Hospitality table, collected admissions from hundreds of undercaffeinated parents at 7:30am, and timed races for eager, FAST swimmers from all over New England.
K1's having a good meet overall, after a small hitch yesterday when we learned that missing an event throws you out of the rest of the day's events. She recovered nicely today, swimming extremely well for a kid who spent much of the past month nursing a sore wrist.
Moral of the story: if you make a mistake, learn from it, put it behind you, and face the next day with a fresh attitude. Remember it, it's a good one.

Sadly, I don't need to include my normal disclaimer here, because there wasn't a single comment submitted to Top Comments today. So I'll use this space to remind everyone that we depend on YOU. Yes, you. If you saw a comment that made you laugh... or think... or understand something or someone just a little better... or was exactly what you'd have said if you got there first... then THAT's what we here at Top Comments would love to see!
Send it to topcomments at gmail dot com, OR go to the group page and click "send message".
Remember the moral of the story? Putting the past behind us and starting fresh? Let's see lots of submissions every day (especially Tuesdays, grin :-)). Because I hope you'll agree with me that this space is a lot better with comments in it!
