I just wanted to say thank you to whoever it was that bought me a gift sub for the holidays. $100 is a lot of money to spend on an anonymous stranger, and it is exactly this type of community togetherness that keeps me coming back. I am floored that someone actually cared enough about me to give me a gift like this. I mean, after all, we are still technically strangers most likely living 20 states away. There was absolutely no reason for you to buy me anything, nothing to be gained from helping a stranger out on the internet, but still, you did. Out of sheer kindness, wanting nothing in return, you wanted to help. And I deeply, truly appreciate it.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again now, I love this community. The kind-hearted nature of the people here floors me. This is exactly why I am a progressive: because we genuinely care about our fellow man. We don't just repeat empty platitudes and spout meaningless rhetoric, we live what we preach. Its an amazing site to see.

To all the people who made this possible, the list keepers and diarists who supported this lifetime sub drive: I wanna say thank you. You guys cared enough to put a list together of people who sorely needed a subscription before lifetime subs go away. That is really, really cool.

To my Secret Santa: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Something like this doesn't happen very often to me. You are an amazing individual to do something like this from the bottom of your heart. You are what makes this website a great place to be.

Happy holidays all.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
