As a self-proclaimed "moderate," Romney thinks we should have left troops in Iraq anyway, existing status-of-forces agreements be damned.
According to the BBC:
[Romney] called the withdrawal "precipitous" and said the president should have left some US forces behind.
and
I think we're going to find that this president, by not putting in place a status-of-forces agreement with the Iraqi leadership, has pulled our troops out in a precipitous way and we should have left 10-, 20-, 30,000 personnel there to help transition to the Iraqis' own military capabilities," Mr Romney said.
Maybe somebody at a New Hampshire diner somewhere can remind the idiot that it was Dubya who negotiated the current agreement and that he only got the extension to 2011 because the Iraqis were heartily tired of their own people being shot down on their own streets by hired foreign gunmen.
