On Meet The Press this morning David Gregory completely disregarded the work of his colleague, Rachel Maddow, over the past week or so as to the growing scandal involving Governor Nikki Haley in South Carolina.
Haley took money from the federal government to study creating a health care exchange in SC., as part of health care reform. She apparently dictated that, contrary to the purpose of the funding, the whole point of the study would be to determine how to opt out of the program. So she obtained and used the money under false pretenses and contrary to the terms for which the money was provided.
She furnished inadequate info and apparently hid relevant info when requested under the state FOI law. And she has been evasive to the press when asked about this:

So, her appearance on MTP this morning was a golden opportunity for a journalist to ask her direct questions about all of this. David Gregory must have been aware of Rachel's work on this. I'm sure she and others at MSNBC must contribute areas of questioning to Gregory for his MTP guests.
But Gregory did not ask Haley a single question about this scandal. Anyone have any thoughts on why he would ignore this legitimate news story?
