If you'll remember, yesterday Wallbuilders' David Barton pooh-poohed the animal rights movement for making us think that--horrors!--animals have feelings. Believe it or not, that wasn't the most unhinged thing uttered on that show. That came a few minutes later.
Barton had as his guest former Abramoff BFF Rabbi Daniel Lapin. After slamming animal-rights activists, Barton and Lapin moved on to AIDS. Lapin was outraged that no one considered quarantining gays during the 1980s.
I hope I'm misunderstanding what Lapin means by "quarantine." I really do. The picture I immediately got was of the Japanese internment camps during World War II, or even worse--especially considering this is coming from a rabbi--of concentration camps. The most troubling aspect is that Barton's co-host, David Green, didn't seem to flinch at all at this staggering suggestion. Instead, he blew it off as merely a health issue. Then again, this kind of talk really isn't that surprising. When you have Bryan Fischer declaring gays a security risk, this is just the next logical step.
