A friend of mine just got this message from the payroll department where he works:
Possible Increase in Social Security Tax
... Prior to 2011, employees paid 6.2% of their taxable wages into Social Security. The temporary reduction for 2011 reduced this amount to 4.2% for 2011.
As you may have heard, Congress has been discussing the extension of the reduced Social Security tax rate for 2012. However, this has not yet been approved.... If there is no final legislation approved ... the Social Security tax will revert back to the 6.2% rate for our January 4th paycheck...I will keep you posted on any progress that may be made on this subject.
All over America, people are going to be waking up to the fact that their taxes had been lowered by our Socialist president, and are about to be raised by the Lower Taxes (for the rich) Republicans, and it's gonna suck millions out of each and every local economy.
For each grand you make, you'll be seeing another $20 taken out. That's 6 to 8 gallons of milk. Some gas for the the car. A new pack o' underwear or socks or two.
So...how do ya like them apples? Speaking of apples, I can get two bushels of apple seconds at the farmer's market for 20.
