I'm am sure that many of you on DKos are big fans of our current First Lady; I am one of them. There isn't a bad thing to be said about Michelle Obama. She is highlighting an issue(obesity) that needs to be dealt with. In my opinion, First Ladies are supposed to be the "better half". Laura Bush was a great buffer to George W. Bush's fallout.Barbara Bush...not so much.
In the light of Newt Gingrich's surge both Rick Perry and Mitt Romney attempted to make the conservative case...by highlighting their long marriages.
Here's Ann Romney
Here's Anita Perry
What do you think of these ads as tools to attack the less conservative candidates? Will it be effective in Iowa for Perry? Will anything that is said in these ads transcend to the general election to garner Independent voters?
I personally am more turned off, than on when candidates try to "win me over" using personal morality. Tell me what you think?
