(Cool beans, Rush. Later dude)
Let's go back to last night;12/25/2011. Just when I thought I found the incontrovertible, undeniable, uncontested, what more proof do you folks in my district need, that Frank LoBiondo is the poser I've been saying he is .... well geez, the next minute I'm inconsolable!
Ack! So, research might not have led me to the seventh or eighth, tenth (pick a number) definitive smoking gun on the chameleon Congressman after all? Yet it still begged the question, who is ... (I hope you're wearing hip boots) Frank LoBiondo? That's where the Oracle of Palm Beach's name came up in Google and saved the day. But before we get to el Rushbo and the Congressman, first let me say, I don't expect anyone from the other 49 states, plus the northern 4/5 of my own state to give a hoot about this guy LoBiondo. He's the peculiar dilemma (or should be) of us astute folks down here in South Jersey. In other words, I don't expect the Kos comment board to light up. That's O.K.
What did the Congressman For Life do? And how's that "big fat idiot" ... (Al Franken said that) ... Rush Limbaugh, figure in all this? con't...
OK, here's the minute by minute synopsis ...
It's Christmas Eve, I'm Jewish, I have nothing to do, I'm bored. Facebook is awash with holiday good cheer. Quite sensibly, I make a public vow on fb not to post anything about the wildly popular Frank LoBiondo for 2 days. 920 facebook friends (many of them shaky with me by now) collectively breathe a sigh of relief. Now what to do? I diddle ;) I go to Source Watch, or one of those other informational sites; and begin counting the hours, minutes etc. One day, 23 hours, and fifty seven minutes till I can get back on facebook. Yes, I see my name in the data as I browse; 31% of the vote; Stein (Democrat). That's nothing to write home about. I'm not there for that anyway. Aha! I see something I've missed....
... surprise, surprise, our Republican Congressman voted along side 227 House Democrats calling for the impeachment of George W. Bush in 2008. Merry Christmas, hallelujah, and this might be the final straw, or not (this happens all the time, just when I think I got him, nobody gives a crap....) Well anyway, I ran against this guy LoBiondo in 2010 and didn't know he actually voted for that! I thought I knew everything. Indeed, I uncovered his big fat Troop Surge lie of 2007, in 2010, when I called him on his double dealing on President Bush (F'er missed the vote, but went on record against the Surge.... no one cared, cares, or will care). How can I not run again in 2012?
Well, this particular triumph was short lived too (so I thought). That's because after further perusal I realized that a true blue conservative, Peter King, was also one of the 24 Republican "ayes" voting to impeach G.W. And I'll be doggone, Congressman King voted down all four articles of impeachment against Bill Clinton in 1998 (that I learned today) yet he votes the other way in 2008? What to make of all this, guessagain2012!
But wait, all is not lost.... This combination of words on Google; Mike Castle, RINO, Peter King comes up with with a Rush Limbaugh entry.
Lot's of time on Christmas Eve to read. A transcript from the EIB (Excellence In Broadcasting) Network in 2010 attacking Mike Castle (R), is proof, by extension I think ..... Limbaugh probably never heard of LoBiondo (R), (that's part of the problem isn't it?) ... that (R) LoBiondo is no Conservative. He's no moderate, and he's not right either. He's an unabashed flip flopping, and yes I've called him this before, a prevaricator!
The EIB transcript (below): When Castle's name comes up, insert a "LoBiondo." Two peas in a pod? No. One had the courage of his convictions. One is gone, one is still with us (and just to tidy this up a bit; in 2008, Mike Castle voted against three of four, LoBiondo, one of four, articles of impeachment against Bill Clinton. All voted to impeach G.W.; King, Castle and LoBiondo).
Let's let Rush sort through all this
RUSH: Well, this is all so predictable, but I'm going to stick with it. People say, "Rush, you gotta be careful. That caller was right, that caller was right, you're a little bit off target here on Castle (Frank LoBiondo) and impeachment. He didn't vote for impeachment." I didn't say he did. I said he voted for a resolution written by Democrats to move it to the Judiciary Committee. "But, Rush, but, Rush, but, Rush, you don't understand, that's how they killed it, everybody knew they were going to kill it." Okay, fine. Let's walk through this 'cause I don't want to get sidetracked here over what we really should be talking about. We can understand why Peter King of Long Island, some conservatives might attempt a strategy in that impeachment resolution to kill it in committee. We can understand that. But why is it assumed that that was Castle's (Frank LoBiondo's) strategy? Castle (LoBiondo; maybe) had joined a bunch of moderate Republicans to go up to the White House and threatened Bush over this. Why is it assumed that Castle (LoBiondo) given his statement that he and fellow RINO's went up to warn Bush that he jeopardized the Republican Party over this, why is it automatically assumed that Castle (Frank LoBiondo) had the same objective to kill the resolution? I mean how do we assume this? You know, all the Democrats voted to kill the resolution, too? What was the purpose of this?
Now, we know that Kucinich came up with the resolution. He was running for President so he wants to appease his base and the wacko fringe wants to impeach Bush, so here comes little Kucinich and he comes up with his resolution. Fine. Once that happens, a bunch of Democrats have to get on board and then secretly hope the thing gets killed. So some Republicans said, "Okay, here's how we'll get on board, we'll kill it," Peter King and these guys, but we're assuming that Castle (LoBiondo) was one of the people who was employing the same strategy of wanting to kill it when his statement to Bush going to the White House, warning Bush, "The future of the Republican Party is at stake, Mr. President, if you're doing this." You know, Ron Paul voted for it, too. Ron Paul voted for this resolution. Why is this just coming out now? All these people who have been studying this race, Christine O'Donnell versus Mike Castle, when they're looking at Christine O'Donnell's personal matters, suing a think tank and she had problems with the IRS, how come they didn't think to mention this Castle vote on sending the impeachment resolution to the Judiciary Committee in the House? I'm sure Castle (LoBiondo) would distance himself from it today if somebody goes up to him, "Did you really intend --" "Of course not. Why, I didn't want to impeach the president, I knew what was going to --" of course he (LoBiondo) would do that, but what about at the time?
What was his motivation at the time? We know by virtue of his vote, he (LoBiondo) votes for cap and trade. And we know he's a RINO. Why is it that over 160 Republicans voted against it? You can talk about all those Republicans that voted for the resolution, but 160 Republicans voted against it. Castle (Frank) happens to be one of the few who voted for it. We are to believe here that Castle (LoBiondo) was standing up for Bush? He was standing with the conservatives in some grand strategy here to head off impeachment after he had met with other moderates and threatened Bush about the war? Where's the proof of this? My only point in bringing this up is we're making all these allegations about how rotten, stinking incompetent, dishonest Christine O'Donnell is, and we put angel wings on Mike Castle. Well, we haven't, but the professional Republican establishment people have. They put angel wings on him. Castle (Congressman Frank LoBiondo) not only voted for Cap and Trade, he promised Harry Reid he'll vote for cap and trade once he's elected to the Senate. Folks, that's the next great encroachment on our freedom after health care. That's like a VAT tax on every carbon granule of energy expended. He promised Dingy Harry he'll vote for cap and trade once he's elected to the Senate. This is the guy that professional Republicans say has got to win if we have any choice, if we have any hope of being the majority in the Senate. He's already promised Harry Reid, who may not even be there himself? So Mike Castle (Frank LoBiondo) is already striking deals with Harry Reid (Nancy Pelosi) instead of working with another Republican trying to defeat Harry Reid (Nancy Pelosi). And who is it we're supporting here? Not we, but the professional establishment.
