Last night:
I was just going to bed when I got the message. I really can't believe it yet. I'm still crying. This has been my daily (hourly) home since the summer of 2004. I'll write a thank you to my wonderful benefactor, whoever you are, in the morning. But in the meantime, I just noticed something. Trix hasn't been gifted. Really?
Thank you wonderful gifter, whoever you are. I needed this little bump more than you may ever know. Peace, love, understanding. What's so funny about that?
Today:
I first heard of this blogging thing on NPR back in 2003 and by 2004 was happily reading a new approach to reporting the news and sharing opinions. Then that summer, I found Daily Kos. I've never missed a day since. In fact, I've never missed an hour since, sometimes playing catchup, but never missing the Front Page, the Rec'd diaries and several recents.
I shook off my fear of being not worthy to talk with such astute and engaged people like those on Kos and joined in early January of 2005. It took me until July 4th to work up the courage to actually write my first diary. I received a handful of Recs and comments from the wonderful, patient folks below. It made a believer of me. It told me, maybe, just maybe, I had found an online home. Oh boy, here's the tears again.
These were the first Kossack that said, hey, welcome aboard. I can't thank all of you enough.

When the 2006 election cycle came into focus during that late summer, I answered a call for volunteers to help rescue election related diaries and was excepted. I took on editorial duties in 2008 and continued that role in 2010 with an amazing group of Kossacks, bringing into focus a compilation of every election related diary we could dig up. I am so grateful for this opportunity.
As the new year approaches, we are in the very early stages of preparing to put the Election Diary Rescue engine back into play, so please stay tuned. We will try our best to do the good work of capturing your good work.
