Cenk is a Progressive Liberal. Of that there is no doubt. Agree or disagree his credentials are clear, even if his thoughts are controversial.

This is not a "Call Out" Diary as per the FAQ.

Cenk is a media personality and no different than any of the others, in that regard. Rachel, Keith, Bill and Sean .... Whether they have accounts here, or not, they put their thoughts and opinions out there for us to debate, and debate them we apparently do ... lmao

Cenk Uygar is not an idiot. We may, at least some of us may, feel that the thoughts and ideas expressed by him range from brilliant to idiotic, but there is little doubt that he raises hackles.

What we have never managed to do is debate the controversial opinions of major commentators very well. It is also an unfortunate fact that the software that powers this site is just horrible when a Diary such as his hits the various Lists.

Once a Diary gets over 500 comments, browsers (well mine anyway) just cannot handle the load placed upon them. They freeze, they slow down, they crash. Strange messages about "Script Errors" appear, and little short of throwing the laptop through the television provides much in the way of satisfaction. Buying a new laptop and TV is rather less pleasant.

I find it hard to believe that an op-ed by one guy can produce 1300 comments (and counting), 200+ Tips, nearly 200 HRs and 150 Recommends without TUs, and other readers, ignoring the FAQ almost as a hobby.

Either the Tip Jar was HR'able, or it wasn't. And if it was then about 200 of you should hope that kos has his Ratings Pulling powers firmly under control.

God knows there are times I would like to find a quiet place to send some of our media folk for a while, but most it appears would rather read, comment and use their Moderation tools as weapons of mass disruption.

So ... We really are at the point where we need to be able to open Diaries without the comments loading, because they don't load anyway with things the way they are. I hate that idea myself. A Diary is incomplete without the discussion that follows it, but neither is it a Diary if it won't open.

We are also at the point where folk need to quit simple "reacting" like this. I tried to read the comment thread but could get no further than a few people arguing with Adam B !!! What was that all about? Cenk wrote the Diary, argue with him. I didn't get far enough to see whether or not he stuck around to fan the flames he ignited, let me know!

And that is the point. There is no way on this good Earth that a full time political commentator did not know exactly what he was doing when he posted that Diary. So go figure who wins this debate.

We have got to get better than this. The Republicans NEVER do it. They follow a simple, and single line. We must never become them, but we should not be allowing one Pie Filled Diary do this to our Community. We are stronger than that. We are better than that.

Cenk .... you make interesting points at times, but this was wrong on so many levels that I lost count. What is worse, you knew what it would ignite around here, you must have know. So you are culpable in seeking to divide the Liberal movement when you really should be using your position to unite them against a common foe.

That foe is not, never was, and never will be a Democratic President.

I don't do this ... I never write Diaries like this, but now I am going to "Publish and be damned"!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
