Limits Number of people who can assemble at the Statehouse
Der Hoosier Fuerhrer.....Mitch Daniels to shut down protests at Statehouse and suppress the voice of citizens in the Hoosier state.
Indiana authorities plan to limit the number of non-employees who can assemble at the Statehouse to between 1,000 and 1,500 on any given day.
Follow me below the pretty little flourish....and be nice.....this is only my third diary and I have been here since forever.

The Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Homeland Security and Indiana State Fire Marshall's Office have decided to cap the number of people who can be inside the Statehouse building in Indianapolis at 3,000. That number includes the 1,700 employees who work at the building.......
There has never been a cap on how many people can be at the Statehouse at one time, officials said. State Police Superintendant Paul Whitesell acknowledged that many people won't be happy, but said the number was based on an "analysis" of what was safe.

Daniels Tromps on Citizen Rights Again
In a move clearly designed to infringe in citizen rights, especially the growing number who oppose Daniels' efforts to force Right to Work on the Indiana working families, he is attempting to cut off citizen's access to the State House.
Even thought polling shows that Hoosiers DO NOT support the so-called “right-to-work” (for less) legislation, the Loonies in the Hoosier State GOP caucus intend to push it through.

INDIANAPOLIS – A top state union released a poll Wednesday showing that Hoosiers – including Republicans – oppose right-to-work legislation.
The poll's findings are in contrast to an Indiana Chamber of Commerce survey from earlier this year finding support for the measure.
A news release on the new poll, commissioned by the AFL-CIO, showed just 38 percent of Hoosier voters favor passage of the controversial bill, while 47 percent are opposed.

Simpson decries effort to silence public through closing Statehouse
Published December 30, 2011 Senator Simpson
2012 General Assembly
Indiana Senate Democratic Leader Vi Simpson (D-Ellettsville) released the following statement in response to this morning’s announcement that public access to the Statehouse will be limited beginning January 1, 2012.
“The people of Indiana should be outraged to learn of the decision to unnecessarily restrict their right to peacefully assemble and to petition their government.
“The action of this administration is symbolic of a closed, elitist government which seeks to silence the voices of persons who disagree with them. This is neither about security nor safety…it is about not wanting to hear from working families who have made the effort, at their own expense, to come and speak with their elected representatives about issues that will directly impact them.
“The administration is, however, maintaining access to special interests – the people who are highly paid to be at the Statehouse. Lobbyists are guaranteed a voice for their clients, but the average Hoosier has no such guarantee.
“If they can silence working people now, then they can silence anyone on any issue with which they disagree. Who will be next?
