We've all had fun mocking the GOP presidential candidates. It's amazing, every few days we have another not-Romney surge followed by the exposure of more great embarrassing hypocrisies. With a little popcorn and an interesting IPA, what could be better?
The effect on Democratic spirits has been an increasing sense of optimism and a relief of stress. Could it be that that flickering glow is at the end of the tunnel?
Who cares, it's just great fun.
But perhaps we've been having too much fun. Maybe it's been a distraction. What have we all been doing other than enjoying the show? Oh, we see some reporting on various other races, and of course we also post very serious criticisms of this or that outrage that the Obama administration has perpetuated.
Obviously, the Tea Party and the whole GOP is in complete disarray, so what more is there?
But this morning I was reading an article about the Tea Party's disarray.
http://www.csmonitor.com/...
The bulk of this article was, in fact, about the disarray of the Tea Party. But then I came to this sentence:
One reason for the absence of a tea party nominee, as evidenced in a series of interviews by the Monitor, is that many tea party activists have already withdrawn their sights from the White House, focusing instead on bolstering representation in the House, gaining more representation in the Senate, and taking over statehouses.
Oops.
