Best gift anyone has given me in a long time.
I've had a terrible few years, I guess I haven't shared much of it, except for a diary one about my experience with a payday advance / title loan nightmare... it's a lot of things, but financial problems have been the burning core that makes everything else worse.
I would have never been able to afford something like this for myself.
The holidays are nice when life is nice I guess (or even when life is manageable, tolerable), but when your life is a wreck it feels like holidays just put a spotlight on it and highlight all the things you're missing out on.
I don't celebrate holidays lately - I wait for them to be over with.
Well this "holidays", the period of time starting last week with the day our Liberal war is clearly losing its hippie ass to, and ending after tomorrow, for me this is the bright spot of it.
To whoever gifted this lifetime subscription to me, know that you made a person happy who hasn't had much to be happy about in a very long time. Thank you.
7:48 PM PT: Whoa. First time on the rec list. The gift that keeps on giving. Woohoo! In 2012 things are going to get better for me - this is a sign!
7:51 PM PT: Haha... that was quick. Off the rec list now... my 15 seconds of fame. I'll take it.
8:01 PM PT: Back on the rec list... woohoo again! 15 more seconds for me! I'd like to thank the little people... I guess I'll include the haiku I wrote that started it all, back when I was a lowly unlifetimesubscriptioned Kossack:
I'm too Goddamn broke
to hide Exxon and Rove ads.
Benefactor me.

haiku update... Just saw the email about the subscription and this is the message the anonymous benefactor sent:
A happy new year
requires being able to
read Daily Kos fast.
