Welcome to the New Year's Day edition of WAYWO (What Are You Working On?, a weekly community diary series for all things crafty, in a variety of mediums and techniques....so welcome knitters, sewers, quilters, crocheters, woodworkers, and anyone else who would like to share.....).
I've decided to stretch my wings a little with my favorite crafts.
I've been to Fair Isle (yes, the remotest inhabited island in the United Kingdom ~~ it's beautiful!), but I've never tried real color work. So the project I cast on this afternoon will include some simple Fair Isle color work. No picture yet, as I so far just have 7 rows of 1x1 ribbing in black. Boring....
A sample from the Shetland Museum in Lerwick of real Fair Isle color work:
For sewing, I'm not sure what new technique to learn. Any suggestions for advanced beginner/intermediate skills to learn?
What new skills/crafts are you planning to learn this year?
