Richard Carmona is running to take the seat from asshat Jon Kyl-R. He was Surgeon General under George W. Bush and a professor at the University of Arizona.
This video was taken on January 5, 2012 at the District 28 Democratic Club.
So what do you think? Can he win Kyl's seat. I looked at the numbers for the amount of Democrats to Conservatives in the state and came up with this
Of the state's 3.1 million voters, 1,124,173 are Republicans, 974,892 are Democrats and 1,037,450 have either registered with independent parties or not designated a party preference. Decreases of 14,629, 24,340 and 6,199 respectively.
Libertarians make up a little less than one percent of the state’s total registration with 23,913, while 5,061 voters are currently registered as members of the Green Party. Additionally, the Americans Elect Party has enrolled 69 voters since joining the state's other recognized political parties earlier this year.
"It's important to remember that only those who have registered with a political party will be able to participate in their respective Presidential primary," Bennett continued. "With the President unlikely to face a primary opponent, many believe that the Republican Party will be the only Party participating in the Presidential Preference Election next year. If that's the case, only registered Republicans will be able to vote in that election."
I'm curious to see if Obama and the DNC can pump $ into AZ to try to get the state a Dem Senator.
