Well not quite Bloombergism, but fear and loathing of the Occupy movement has moved north up here in the Nutmeg State.
For the past few weeks a group calling itself Occupy Danbury has met up in the Danbury Mall. (Disclaimer: I have not been to any of these meetings, but I have been following it on Facebook.)
The group is not looking to pitch tents, bang drums, jump over barracades. This is what was in their invite.
Please come out with us, walk around the mall sit in the food court and talk...We had about 15 people wearing Occupy Danbury T-shirts on and the security officers followed us every time we went for a walk, and stalked us in the food court....Lets all make a stand together just to get people aware and you can learn so much more by attending and listening to others speak about it....For more info please contact Occupy Danbury on Facebook...
Thank you I look forward to seeing you all there, it's also a good way to just meet up and hang out....Bring your kids I do...
We want to do this respectfully please no drums and no signs. This can't look like a protest and we are not looking to agitate anyone.

Follow me under the squiggle for what happened at this meeting.
Here is a picture of the the group.
This is what happened.
Occupy Danbury visited the Mall tonight for a meeting and conversation. Shortly after this, we were told that we are not allowed to meet there.
Now I know this isn't as dramatic as pepper spray, tie wrap handcuffs, and mass arrests, and beatings but seriously WTF????
Since when can a group not go to the mall all wearing the same T-Shirts and eat at the damn food court???
Tell me this would have happened it it was a group from the Episcopal Church?, the Club for Growth?, Daughters of the American Revolution?
I'm sure the mall is within its legal rights but that doesn't mean I need to shop there.
