This has to stop.

Mental health treatment especially for someone in crisis is not readily available. Unless you think talking to some stranger on the phone or going to a waiting room that would make Bedlam look stable for several hours is actually helpful.

Eric James Borges, 19, of Visalia, California, succumbed to suicide Wednesday, January 11, 2012.  Known as EricJames to his friends, he was an intern with the Trevor Project, and a Supplemental instructor at the College of the Sequoias.

Word began spreading late Wednesday among shocked and saddened friends and acquaintances.  Not accepted by his birth family, EricJames was striking out on his own, trying to deal with his personal situation, but also wanting to help others.  Sadly, even involvement with the Trevor Project was not enough to help him navigate the turbulent waters of young adulthood.

To make it worse the Conservative candidates are ramping up the stochastic rhetoric in hopes of appealing to rabid homophobes.

Here is some of the hateful rhetoric that Eric James Borges had to endure before taking his own life.

I imagine Santorum is quite pleased with himself hearing that he again contributed to the loss of another LGBT.

The lack of mental health care, the vile outbursts by politicians, and a society that just does not seem to care is a perfect storm of disinterest in one of the most vulnerable communities in out society.

AND IT MUST STOP!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
