Tomorrow, January 20th, Occupy Wall Street West, a production of Occupy San Francisco and fifty plus associated groups, does what lots of people have been saying the Occupy Movement should have been doing all along -- go after the giant banks and financial corporations that control our nation's economy for the benefit of the one percent.

SF J20

The Great Vampire Squid action begins at 6:00 AM, at 555 California St.

Back in 2009 Matt Taibbi referred to Goldman Sachs as "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money." In honor of SG's continued  blood-sucking, we will fry up some squid in front of GS's headquarters, preventing customers from entering.

At 6:30 AM, interfaith leaders will civilly but disobediently pray for Bechtel's soul -- surely one of the most arduous tasks of the day. At 45 Beale St.

A group of interfaith leaders and others from Occupy Oakland, Occupy San Francisco, and other peace and justice organizations will attempt to shut Bechtel down for the day by blockading the doors... ((Bechtel)) led an effort to privatize water in Bolivia and is profiting from reconstruction in Iraq.

Bank of America is set to feel the wrath of ACCE and a large number of foreclosure victims begininning at Justin Herman Plaza, starting at 8:00 AM.

ACCE/RAN action, the Tour of Shame of BofA will shut down several bank branches between 8am and 12pm. We are issuing out arrest warrants to BofA executives. We have several Foreclosure Fighters, including Josephine Tolbert, 75 year old senior, and we are demanding that BofA rescind the sale of her home.

Or if you're not into squid, shame or prayer, you might be into music.

From 11AM until 7PM members of Musicians United will perform their music at Bradley Manning (Justin Herman) Plaza

You can also choose to Occupy the Courts, Occupy Fannie Mae, Occupy an Auction, or watch street theatre.

Actions continue throughout the day. Check this handy action schedule and visit the central website.

And, oh yeah. There will be a Kossacks meetup at 11:20 AM just outside of Portico Restaurant at 550 Market.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
