I'm having a stressful time right now and I guess I should be writing about that but I don't really want to. I'd rather laugh and be happy and forget about it. It's only a temporary situation and will be over soon but it still nags at me. I'm facing the death of a parent which is much worse than this thing that's bothering me so I can't really get that down about it. To shake off the depression and anger, I find the funniest, silliest and happiest videos I can find on youtube. It works! They make me feel better. Well, sometimes...
When I need a quick rush of happiness sometimes I watch Gene's Kelly's famous Singing in the Rain dance scene. But something always ruins it at the end. That cop, that damn fascist 1950s cop come along and ruins everything. Damn. A man can't sing and dance in the fucking rain in America? Not even a white man? WTF? lol
I mean, he's not bothering anybody and he's a damn good dancer so what harm is there in this man splashing around on the public sidewalks and streets that he pays for with his tax money? I would be bored as shit as a cop in an "ideal" 1950s setting. I would be excited to see a strange man dancing his ass off in the rain every once in a while. People walking by wearing grey topcoats and fedoras all day can't be that exciting to see. If one of them broke into a spectacular choreographed routine, I would be thrilled! Well done, sir! Do you know any old vaudeville songs? Come back anytime on my shift if you're gonna dance like that! Holy shit! You should be in a movie, dude!
Do you agree? I'm just sayin'. ;-D
Anyway, for your entertainment, here's Gene Kelly's magnificent dance scene.
