Scott Walker raises $4.5 million in five weeks; half came from just 33 people

Scott Walker was able to raise big money from some very rich friends.
While volunteers were gathering signatures to recall him from office, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was allowed to receive campaign donations of unlimited size. Never one to shy away from talking to rich people, over the last five weeks Walker used this opportunity to raise $1,000,000 from just four donors, and over well $2,000,000 from 33 donors:
An analysis of Walker's latest campaign finance reports submitted Monday done by the government watchdog group the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign shows that 61 percent of his money came from out of state.

That includes $1 million he got from three Missouri donors and one from Texas over a single week earlier in January.

The Democracy Campaign says roughly half of the $4.5 million Walker raised over the past five weeks came from 33 individual donors.

The four Walker donors who gave $250,000 each more than doubled what the recall effort raised during the same time frame:Goal Thermometer

And in the last five weeks, the Democratic party reported raising $394,000. The group behind the recall efforts, United Wisconsin, brought in $86,000 in the same period.

During his time as governor, Scott Walker has conducted an assault on the middle class in order to make a small number of rich people even richer. While this has given him a big financial advantage for the recall fight, it has not bought him the love of the people of Wisconsin.
