The Florida House redistricting committee finalized their work today and submitted plans for Congressional and Legislative districts today.

Although it's hard to believe, there weren't a lot of last minute surprises and in most cases, the small changes made were to eliminate splitting communities and fine tune boundaries.
And despite the frantic efforts of the Broward Republican Party to improve things in CD-22 for Republican Allen West, this final plan actually makes things worse for him.
In the last plan approved by the committee, CD22 had gone from it's current 52.1% Obama/47.9% McCain to 56.9/43.1. In the final plan, these numbers are slightly WORSE, 57.1%/42.9%.
Democratic registration numbers have also improved. Currently it's 36.9% DEM/36.7 REP. In the previous plan it was 41.3%/32.8%. In the final plan it's now 41.6%/32.6%.
They shaved a little off the northern part of the district in Palm Beach county, which is more Republican and made the whole of Wilton Manors (very Democratic) in Broward County now within CD22.
There is an informal agreement that the House will accept the Senate's state Senate plan and vice versa and it's believed that this final house plan is the result of the elimination of differences between the two chamber's congressional plans.
We're still a long ways from final in Florida...both chambers have to approve the final plans and then there's expected to be significant challenges, both with DOJ clearance and with the Florida Supreme Court because these plans do not seem to be in the spirit of Florida's "Fair Districts" constitutional amendments that were passed in 2010.
But speaking as someone who's home has been moved into Allen West's district, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to boot his ass out the door in November.
