Fact 1) President Bush has actually "put more people on Food-Stamps" under his watch.
Newt’s Faulty Food-Stamp Claim
The FactCheck Wire -- January 18, 2012
Newt Gingrich claims that “more people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history.” He’s wrong. More were added under Bush than under Obama, according to the most recent figures.
[...]
But Gingrich goes too far to say Obama has put more on the rolls than other presidents. We asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition service for month-by-month figures going back to January 2001. And they show that under President George W. Bush the number of recipients rose by nearly 14.7 million. Nothing before comes close to that.
And under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million. To be exact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Obama’s time in office than during Bush’s.
Fact 2) Under-employment and Poverty causes people to go on Food-Stamps.

(CNN) - Right now in America, there are more than 46 million people living on food stamps. It's a staggering number that has exploded in the past few years.
[...]
The pantry's director says 30 new people come each month. A recent survey by the U.S. Conference of mayors found that "unemployment" is the number one reason people give when requesting food aid. That's followed by "overall poverty", "low-wage jobs" and "high housing costs."
Fact 3) A major demographic that benefits from Food-Stamps -- is Children.
The need for Food is color-blind and strikes all demographic groups.

Fact 4) The GOP policies to favor the rich, including incentivizing the outsourcing of Jobs, and allowing Unemployment Insurance Benefits to expire, and blocking necessary infrastructure repairs -- All result in the MORE American citizens having to resort to Food-Stamps. Not less.
The GOP policies to pamper the wealthy 'Job Creators', totally ignores the plight of the Poor communities, right before their eyes.
People will do what they have to do to feed their families, including even asking for Help.
Fact 5) The Democratic party is willing to help them. The average citizen. The people in Need. Even at the cost of raising our Taxes.
The Republican party is willing to shout -- "Go get a Job!" ...
Willing to simply just look the other way, and mumble under their breath, and sometimes even out loud:
"If they're poor and don't have a Job -- it's their own damn fault."
It seems the GOP is the Party of "Blame the Victims" -- of course that's nothing new, if you've been paying attention.
