Fox News' War On The EPA
MediaMatters -- October 13, 2011
Harmonizing with the Republican agenda, Fox News and Fox Business have launched a full-scale attack on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), labeling the agency "job terrorists" who are "strangling America." What follows is a list of Fox's top 10 lies about the EPA this year.
Here are the "approved" talking points, in case they "forget why" they hate the EPA so much, again?
(many thanks to MediaMatters for watching the Fox News, so we don't have to ...)

Well it sure seems the 1% defenders of the 1% Status Quo -- all have their quacking ducks in a row, and that they are all singing from the same play book.
Funny, gotta wonder HOW did that happened ... ???
Well here's the latest EPA-MUST-be-Stopped missive from THAT promoter all things profitable.
All things Corporately Profitable -- that is.
REGULATION OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS (GHGS) (pdf)
ALEC -- American Legislative Exchange Council
[pg 1]
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is moving full steam ahead on regulating GHGs under the Clean Air Act (CAA). The principal human emitted GHGs include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and fluorinated gases. The EPA blames these gases for the increase in global temperature over the past 100 years. EPA finalized first-ever rules for reducing GHGs from automobiles and light-duty trucks in May 2010, and has moved to implement a program of regulating GHGs from stationary sources on two different tracks throughout 2011 with final rules expected in 2012.
[pg 2] [ALEC urges you to take action against the EPA now:]
TAKE ACTION
-- ALEC model legislation that addresses GHG regulation:
-- Resolution opposing EPA’s Regulatory Train Wreck
-- State Regulatory Responsibility Act
-- Resolution in Opposition to the EPA’s “Greenhouse Gas Tailoring Rule” and the treatment of biomass energy
-- Resolution in Opposition to EPA’s Regulation of Greenhouse Gases from Mobile Sources
-- Resolution in Opposition to EPA’s Plan to Regulate Greenhouse Gases Under the Clean Air Act
-- Resolution in Opposition of Carbon Dioxide Emission Standards
-- Write focused, joint letters to members of Congress
-- Write an op-ed or pursue other press opportunities highlighting the impact of this regulation.
For more information about the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Regulation, contact Todd Wynn, Director of ALEC’s Energy, Environment and Agriculture Task Force, at 202.742.8542 or twynn@alec.org
Bad EPA!!! How dare they force polluters to STOP polluting?
How dare they force everyone play by the same rule book ???
Don't those Environmentalists know -- that regulating Greenhouse Gases (GHG) -- is Anti-American!
Well ALEC is here to remind them ... in as LOUD a voice as possible ...
EPA’s Regulatory Train Wreck (pdf)
ALEC -- American Legislative Exchange Council
While pending regulation of greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act (despite Congressional rejection of cap-and-trade) has received the lion’s share of the attention, the Environmental Protection Agency has also begun developing and finalizing a slew of overreaching and inefficient air and water rules over the next several years that will dramatically increase energy costs, cause enormous negative impacts to jobs and the economy, irreparably damage the competitiveness of American business, and trample on state sovereignty in the process. [...]
But wait, their more from their not-so-quiet war-room, much more:
ALEC.org ... personal sanity, not required!
And ALEC's puppet-master sponsors have deep enough pockets to keep this "EPA War" going for quite some time ... what with 21st Century "attention spans" being what they are.
And with the Corporate Media, being quite willing to play along with the hi-larious 'Ruse' ...
What's the harm? We could all use a little more levity, right? It's just Politics ...
Corporations Represented on ALEC's Private Enterprise Board Are Big Spenders in Washington
by Brad Hooker, opensecrets.org -- Sept 12, 2011
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is an ideologically conservative consortium of state legislators and business interests known to draft model legislation for state lawmakers across the country.
[...]
On the national level, the companies involved in ALEC’s private enterprise board have also been mustering a juggernaut of lobbyists to target congressional initiatives, as well as federal departments like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Here is a table showing the lobbying expenditures of each of these 23 companies since 2009. Note: figures for 2011 are through the end of June, the most recently available data:

Mitt Romney falsely claims that carbon isn't harmful to human health and says the Environmental Protection Agency shouldn't regulate it.
