The most important job of the President of the United States is that of chief negotiator with other foreign leaders. Upon this skill rests the foundation of our national security. The President's advisers can lay the groundwork and set the stage, but the final negotiations rest solely on the shoulders of the President.
Now look how completely Trump owned Willard in Nevada. It was embarassing.
To get Trump’s endorsement of dubious value, Romney was forced to go hat in hand to Trump’s Los Vegas hotel and completely on Trump’s time table. Mitt was even forced to bring his wife. As designed by Trump, by Mr. and Mrs. Romney’s presence at the hotel they promoted Trump’s Los Vegas Hotel and Casino. That is why Romney had to accept Trump's endorsement right then and right there while the Romney's were still in Los Vegas.
And the timing of this endorsement couldn't have been worse for Romney's campaign. Right at the peak moment of Romney's "I don't care about the very poor." gaffe, Romney surely didn't want to get an endorsement from the most gross, "over the top", "look how rich I am" member of the 1%?
But Mitt so much wants to please who ever he is with.
Following this “huge” endorsement and a victory in Nevada, Donald Trump told Fox News that his endorsement was key to Mitt Romney's big victory in the Nevada caucuses on Saturday. Thereby belittling Willard even more. Romney didn't win Nevada, Trump won Nevada for him. (The poor little rich kid needs so much support.)
"There was a lot riding on that particular race in Nevada and it was interesting, because the numbers were much, much greater than you thought. And a lot of people are giving me credit for that. And I will accept that credit."
He added: "There was a lot of confusion as to who I was going to endorse, and frankly, that made things more exciting."
If someone can get so completely owned by The Donald, I certainly wouldn’t want him negotiating for me, my family and my community on the world stage.
In fact this endorsement process caused me to think, for a moment, that Trump might have one quality that you would want in a President.
That moment passed when I remembered how completely Obama owned “The Donald” when Trump was running for President.
Oh, I forgot Obama is so over his head.
