Now some folks may be getting their panties in a bunch over Susan G. Komen partnering with gun manufacturers. But it's not just gun manufacturers. After all, nothing says "Breast Cancer Awareness" like shooting a shotgun, right? True, you might hurt your shoulder...but you're gonna cure something, sure as shootin'!
Maybe that's not your style...don't worry. We're all about choices....
Screw the shotgun, how about an assault rifle?
That was auctioned off to raise money Susan G. Komen.
But why stop at guns? After all, what's a gun without ammo?
Bet you thought the lady with the shotgun was just being creative and ironic, right. Well, join the club. You can buy those pink shells at gunbroker, right now. Don't worry if you miss the auction. Federal Ammunition will make plenty more for those of you "tough enough to shoot pink."
And where oh where is the well dressed lady gonna store all that ammo? Why dontchya know.... they are also auctioning off a nice ammo case "for the cure."
Now, I know what you are thinking..... why is he picking on the gun crowd? Surely the ladies at Susan G. Komen are just exercising all their rights, right?
You know like the right to bear arms. Of all kinds. So if guns ain't your cup of tea, have no fear, my dear, look what else we have here.... A lovely Ka-Bar knife .... "for the cure" of course! No need to hurry, there are plenty of these on sale to choose from.
Of course, lethal force isn't for everyone. Sometimes we want to choose something a bit more understated. Something with a bouquet that leaves an impression without an exit wound. What better way than pepper spray to get up in someone's face about breast cancer? That's an approach that is guaranteed to move even the most callous guy to tears.
I hope all you haters out there that think Susan G. Komen isn't about choice.... think again. You think it is easy choosing the right corporate partners? It's not. Besides, this is America where freedom to choose makes us better than everyone else. And Susan G. Komen will fight for every woman's right to have choices. As long as that doesn't include a woman's right to make choices about her own body, that is.
Lord knows, that would be .... dangerous.
