With so much at stake, we can't allow for two sets of rules in this election whereby the Republican nominee is the beneficiary of unlimited spending and Democrats unilaterally disarm.
Therefore, the campaign has decided to do what we can, consistent with the law, to support Priorities USA in its effort to counter the weight of the GOP Super PAC. We will do so only in the knowledge and with the expectation that all of its donations will be fully disclosed as required by law to the Federal Election Commission.

This is painful for me. On one hand I can think of little more dangerous than using the ideas and tactics we loathe to win elections.
However, I loathe President Romney even more. I loathe the idea of the plutocracy being vindicated with their half billion dollars dumped into unaccountable and negative SuperPAC's. I loathe the idea of this snowball turning into a permanent Republican majority bought and paid for by the Koch Brothers, and reinforced by a Supreme Court willing to engage in judicial activism.
And if they manage to win this thing in Nov., no Republican who likes his job will ever dream of saying "Campaign Finance Reform" again.
I want to believe in the strength of the Occupy Movement and the small donors. I want to believe in the viral campaign and the social media blitz and I want to see voter suppression tactics die a gruesome death at the hands of the righteous. And whether you are 100% pleased or not (are u kidding...of course you're not) - I want to see a second term for President Obama.
But money is ammunition. Money is now access to the easily swayed and scared masses whether we like it or not
so I am torn, ambivalent, and fearful yet again for our Republic - but also open for discussion, consideration and input on the matter.
