I couldn't believe I was getting telemarketed by the right wing. I was expecting someone to offer me a credit card or sell me something, since they called my land line. Why do I still have a land line? I don't know.
They asked me if I thought the President was going a good job. Well, of course. He's doing a great job. They asked me about which Republican candidate I wanted to win. I said Santorum. At that point, I got the feeling that it was a Santorum phishing call, as the questions were revolving around Rick Santorum, what I thought about the other candidates and if they thought I considered myself a conservative. I told them I was very conservative, in a progressive way. I asked them if I could pick Fred Krager and they were baffled. I asked if they knew that he was still a Republican Presidential Candidate that is currently running and I wanted to pick him. Since he wasn't an opinion, I had to go with Rick Santorum.
I thought a lot about Rick Santorum and he is the Republican's Barack Obama 2008. He won Iowa and he is beating the establishment and totally messing their game up. I remember when everyone said that Hillary had it in the bag around this time in February of 08. I went to the Caucus in downtown Olympia at the Knox building with a sign that had Hillary and a Lizard as George Bush II saying Bush Clinton Bush Clinton, No More Kings and Queens. Pretty obvious I was not coming to have Bill as the first dude. Biggest bummer of 2008 election...no first dude.
The caller asked what I thought of Newt. I asked if there was a no way in hell option, and they said strongly disagree, I said same thing. Well, they asked if I helped out in a Republican election and I mentioned that I was on the Bush 2004 campaign, even though I didn't do my duties by going out and getting folks to vote for Bush. I have a letter signed by George Bush that I keep thanking me for getting him reelected. I was going to bring it to the Washington State Republican Caucus on March 3rd in case I have to represent. I'm at a loss of who to throw my support for at the Caucus. I really want Fred Krager's campaign to pick up. He seems like the only one that could beat Barack Obama. It does sound as absurd as Newt's 51st state on the moon. Get real Newt, Santorum/Rubio will make Cuba the 51st state. Rush Limbaugh and Newt can open a casino and get remarried as much as they want. Fetuses will get voting rights restored. Judeo-Christian law will be inforced.
The call went on for about 9 minutes. They asked me if I was pro choice. I said yes. They asked if I was strongly pro choice and I said I was very strongly pro choice. At that point, they were like "have a nice day" and they hung up. I guess you can't be Republican and be pro choice. I guess I'll have to take Newt's advice to a voter in Iowa and go vote for Obama.
