That's right.
Stephen Colbert must be stopped.
And the way to do it?
Pass the DISCLOSE Act.
That's right, like a zombie rising from the grave, Democrats are re-introducing the DISCLOSE Act to fight Citizens United.
I'll let Speaker-To-Be Pelosi explain:
From their Facebook page:
Today, in a first step to reform the money in politics, House Democrats are fighting for disclosure to get unlimited, secret donations out of politics. The Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United opened the floodgates to unrestricted special interest campaign donations in American elections—permitting corporations to spend unlimited funds, directly or through third parties and Political Action Committees organized for those purposes, to influence Federal elections and opened the door for the emergence of Super PACs.
To shine the light on this money in politics, the DISCLOSE Act will:
Strengthen public reporting by corporations and other outside groups, with all corporations, unions, section 501(c)(4), (5), (6) organizations, and Super PACs publicly reporting to the Federal Election Commission, within 24 hours of making a campaign expenditure or transferring funds to other groups for campaign-related activity (of $10,000 or more).
Require corporations and other outside groups to stand by their campaign ads -- with their leader and top financial contributor disclosed in the ad.
Require corporations and other outside groups to disclose campaign-related spending to shareholders and organization members.
Require lobbyists to disclose campaign-related expenditure in conjunction with their lobbying activities.
Senate Republicans blocked similar legislation in 2010, and we are already seeing the impact. In the last two years, Super PACs raised about $181 million— with roughly half of it coming from fewer than 200 super-rich people and roughly 20% from corporations.
And more must be done regarding the money in politics. We must fight for reform – to empower small donors and the grassroots with a greater role in our elections. We must overturn the crushing Supreme Court decision that strengthened the hand of special interests at the expense of the people’s interest – with an amendment to our Constitution.
So let's work those phones, emails, faxes, carrier pigeons, and what have you.
Because even Republicans are starting to regret Citizens United.
"As you know, I think the outside super PACs and others is so disgraceful that I'm ashamed of the United States Supreme Court in their decision on United"--John McCain, January 25, 2012

I just wanted to get this brilliant video out there.
