The 110,000-member Massachusetts Teachers Association has
endorsed Elizabeth Warren for Senate. The MTA, an affiliate of the National Education Association, made its endorsement within hours of the Massachusetts
SEIU's endorsement of Warren. The MTA's endorsement is made through a
committee that includes members of the union drawn from each of the state's congressional districts.
The endorsement statement focuses wholly on Warren, without discussion of Republican incumbent Scott Brown, and cites one of the less prominent aspects of Warren's biography:
While most people know that Warren is a law professor at Harvard University, [MTA President Paul] Toner said, few people know that before she went to law school she worked at a public elementary school in New Jersey teaching special needs students.
Warren's commitment to fighting for working families is well known, and her experience in both elementary and higher education gives her an unusually broad perspective on education issues, a clear appeal for an education union.
Union endorsements are great for Warren, but she still needs our help. Please, contribute $6 to Elizabeth Warren on Orange to Blue.
