Parts of tonight's diary prep are under the influence of being more brain adeled than usual thanks to a visit from the migraine fairy AND nausea. But, I'll hang in here if you will. :D
Some SPARK's gotta help! :) Author! Author! Today's BRILLIANT criminal left more than his "DNA" at the adult book store he was trying to rob. Of all people, I should've thought of this; hey, ya' got all the food groups represented! We'll conclude with another round of "Author! Author!"
Let's Countdown...
And, the voice is back! Oh, and Keith's back, too. :) HOLY CRAP - with a jacket & tie, too! He had to have had a "dress up" gig today.
#5 "GOP Caves on Payroll Tax Cut" AKA "Election Year Budget" AKA "Rick's the One" - The Times is reporting that the House MENSA members have given in on the extension of the payroll tax cuts only through possibly the end of the year. Unemployment insurance & the doctors' situation with Medicare are still hanging out there. Dems are nervous about separating the issues. Meanwhile, President Obama introduced his budget today that won't get out of the House. The $3.8 trillion includes $350 billion for stimulus (whatever that means), $476 billion for infrastructure & transportation (Rachel will like that!), and savings amounting to $1.5 trillion in new taxes (good luck with that!), and $800 billion in "war savings," which I don't think we should count until we actually have them among other items. President Obama's tie is very stripey! Mitchie the Turtle McConnell took to the Senate floor to poo - poo the proposed budget. Mittens won the Maine caucus on Saturday by 3 points over Rep. Ron Paul. And, by some miracle of nature, Mittens also won the CPAC straw poll, too! Yea, me thinks at least some "books" have been "cooked" or SOMETHING. Man on Dog's leading in 1 of Mittens' home states?! YIKES! The froth is rising in all sorts of national polls, too. Sam Stein gets to talk the payroll tax extension. The Dems are refusing the GOBP chance to give up. O...K... Yea, the Dems are winning the memo on these issues, and they do have a position of strength in negotiating, but I agree with Mr. Sam that they'll eventually play along. Today's budget submission was a little more on the populist side than in previous budgets. Gee, I wonder why? :) Mr. Stein doesn't see the GWB tax cuts going buh - bye, either. Joe Williams gets CPAC straw poll cooking duty. I still don't understand why people are making so much of Man on Dog winning 3 contests last week or whenever THAT YIELDED EXACTLY ZERO DELEGATES. Sure, there's some psychology at work here, but psychology doesn't get you the nomination; delegates do. Michigan doesn't consider Mittens to be "a native son" - especially after that "let Detroit go bankrupt" $hit, I'm sure! Man on Dog's going to keep talking about going back to the good 'ol days of back alley abortions. And, uh, Keith, the Vulcan salute is Star Trek, thank you very much! ;D
#4 "'Behave Yourself'" AKA "Occupy the Right" - The Scum Andrew Breitbart kind of went a little kooky with Occupy protestors at CPAC the other night; the man needs some meds STAT. Occupy was at CPAC during the entirety of the love fest. There's a new Citizens United film about Occupy? OK! Our Great Orange Satanic Leader gets to talk insane scum - lucky! ;D He thinks Occupy's gotten under MENSA members' skin because they aren't controlling the debate anymore. The message is beginning to win out over physical occupations of space.
Republicans need to scare people.
Yep, Markos nailed it! As a matter of fact, I think I may have a new sig line! ;D Don't worry; I'll give Markos due credit.
"Time Marches On!" - I almost mentioned the Charles Schultz thing but thought it was a little depressing. A Texas Ranger helped give the forecast & tried to immitate Will Ferrell immitating Harry Carey. How 'bout that game - winning shot?! A couple grandparents decided to sing the blues to their 18 - year - old nephew on teh YouTubes. Wow...
#3 "Equal Rights & Wrongs" AKA "Same Sex Marriage Momentum" - The NJ state Senate passed marriage equality today; Governor Take a State Helicopter to His Kid's Game has already vowed to veto it because he wants to run for POTUS in 2016. Meanwhile, Washington state's Governor SIGNED marriage equality into law today but doesn't go in effect until June. She's even ready to talk to the aforementioned NJ Governator about her experience with the issue - for all the good it'll do. Dan Savage is in studio! Civil rights SHOULD NOT be put to a vote, and he said that on the tail of the Governator's absolutely ludicrous statement about voting on civil rights instead of people dying. Man on Dog's in Washington state today? Wow! Is it just me, or is Keith being awfully self - deprecating tonight?
WPITW - Coultergeist compared President Obama to Flavor Flav at CPAC. Rep. Lamar Smith tried to make a business profit from his committee leadership position. Rep. Steve King went to CPAC to rag on energy - efficient light bulbs.
#1 "Murdoch - Gate" - 8 people were arrested across the pond over the weekend for bribery charges; those 8 people just happened to work for Pirate Rupert. Legal rumblings might be growing louder on THIS side of the pond, too! Some folks already want Pirate Rupert to pay with actual money & stocks. John Dean get's Pirate Rupert duty! :D Mr. Pirate could be in trouble for bribing foreign officials on behalf of an American company. NewsCorp turned in the names of the folk arrested? HA! A civil lawsuit for discovery purposes could be down the pike here from a UK lawyer involved in the Millie Dowd case.
