As I noted in my prior diary, I am running for State Representative in Indiana House District 93, against a national chair of ALEC. Since the time of my prior post, our Republican-controlled legislature rammed through the destructive “right to work” legislation and has pushed for teaching creationism in our schools (though, it appears as though it will not pass at this time), but has at least withdrawn a bill to regulate the singing of the national anthem.
As if it has not done enough damage already to the workers of our State and our families, our legislature is now pushing a new bill that would further hurt those most in need: those dependent upon Medicare or Medicaid for health care. While trying to score cheap political points in their opposition to the Affordable Care Act, these Republican legislators have ignored the consequences to their constituents.
It’s time to show the Republicans in the Indiana General Assembly that enough is enough. The people of my district, which is just south of Indianapolis, have been ignored for some time now, as the incumbent has instead become a rubber stamp for the ALEC model legislation that has been finding its way through the legislature. I am fighting to restore responsible and responsive leadership to the people of District 93.

On this Valentine’s Day, please show some love for our campaign and the people of this district, if you are in a position to do so, by making a donation of $4.93 or some other amount through ActBlue. At the same time, please be assured that your encouragement throughout this effort will also be greatly appreciated.
