This came home from elementary school on a Valentine bag over two decades ago. In all the years it hung in my office and now at home, it recalls to me again that we travel toward love. There is only one way and we either move toward love or away from it. We are drawn to love, loving knowledge or beauty or most of all each other, because love is the shape of our selves, our being, our becoming. We have all been pierced in our travels but those wounds are the birth pangs of love, the places where we opened ourselves and let love in. Many thanks to Frances, for giving this to me and for the permission to share it, and to Ben for suggesting the scanner. Happy Valentine's day to all lovers and all beloveds.
