Firstly, as many of you I am sure already suspect, I am not a world renowned botanist who has worked extensively as a consultant for Nature and the National Geographic. In fact the only two flowers I can identify are the daffodil and the crocus. It should also be noted the effort I took to get these pictures. Some of them were takeas far away as TWO BLOCKS from my house.
On a more serious note, I am surprised that the daffodils bloomed before the crocus. The crocus is always the first flower around here. Maybe it has something to do with our mild winter.
Anyway, I hope this adds a little color to your Winter afternoon. :)
This is the first daffodil I have seen this year.
Here is a crocus in my back yard about to open.
I believe this is what is called a pinkish purple flower that bugs like to crawl around on.
Here is the first rose I've seen (huh, I guess I know the names of three flowers).
OK, I don't know the names of any of the rest of these flowers, so you are on your own.
And what collection form Portland would be complete without a picture of moss?
