Below is an open letter to Dana Loesch and like-minded rape-enablers.
If you are unfamiliar with the topic at hand, I'll refer you to CNN's Dana Loesch: All your (non-virgin) vaginas belong to us.
Dear Dana Loesch,
I should begin by introducing myself. I'm a white male, 49 years of age, married to my wife and best friend for 26 years.
The last part is important, especially as it relates to recent comments made by yourself and other like-minded individuals.
You see, even though my wife and I have had sexual relations with each other countless times during our relationship, each and every time has been consensual. Upon consummating our relationship my wife did not give me an unlimited pass to her body. Each and every time is a new experience. And each and every time, both parties have the right to consent or refuse. If I were to force myself on her, even in the bonds of marriage, it would be rape. Consenting each and every time is a matter of respect. Either of us has a right to be too tired, too distracted, or to simply not be in the mood. And each of us respects that right in the other.
Likewise, the fact that my wife has engaged in sex many times for many years, does not extend any privileges to her body to any other person. Should my wife seek extra-marrital companionship, it would still be on those terms, with her consent. Any other contact would be considered rape.
In civilized society, the same extends to my wife and her gynecologist and other medical professionals she might consult. My wife gives these people access to her body for legitimate medical needs -- both for treatment and diagnosis. But my wife's consent here is limited to legitimate medical needs. Should any of these people take advantage of that relationship for non-medical reasons, it would be considered rape.
My wife has never given consent to access her body to any member of any clergy or any state agency or department. Any access made by those agents would and should be considered rape.
That you would deem my wife's consent freely given to me to mean that she has consented to rape by the state shows a profound lack of respect for her and all other women which I find deeply disturbing. The fact that the forcible rape with an object being discussed has zero medical benefit shows a perverse desire on your part to control and punish women for imagined crimes against yourself and/or humanity. Deeply disturbing indeed.
Sincerely,
koseighty
