Before we jump into the Syrian 'pandora box,' one should see the whole picture. It ain't pretty.

Before we jump into Syria like we did so fast in Libya...

BURNING FACTS

Justifiably, British PM says Iran, Hezbollah supporting Syria's crackdown (January 18, 2012) Iran and the Iranian-backed Islamist group Hezbollah are supporting Syria's violent crackdown on the country's uprising. The 7,000 victims, with Children in Syria Paying the Highest Price is very sad, so is the Baathist Alawite racist apartheid and racial ethnic cleansing of Sunnis.
Worth mentioning, that the ardent supporters of the Baathist regime are the infamous, SSNP (swastika) Founded by az-Za'im (Der Fuhrer), Saadeh imitated Hitler and the Nazis in almost every possible manner. Thus, the Syrian national anthem for the PPS sang "Syria, Syria uber alles" to the same familiar tune of "Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles.

CAUTION!

Yet, Peter Oborne warns (Telegraph, 18 Feb 2012) that "Syria's crisis is leading us to unlikely bedfellows." Not over simplifying the situation, and that the alternative to the negative 'Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas,' isn't that great either.

Moreover, Al Qaeda urges Muslims to help Syria rebels (CBS News - Feb 12, 2012).

So before we listen to Conservatives urge 'immediate' US action on Syria (CNN February 18, 2012) we should know into 'what' we are getting into.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
