I have long ago mentioned that I believed that Governor Palin did not enter the GOP race because she could make more money on the sidelines and then jump into a Brokered Convention. Plainly and simply, she would be the most vetted of any person (other than John McCain) to fly in as a political savior.
But I've been giving some thought to some of the other potential saviors:
Governor Mitch Daniels - besides the personal problems of his wife shacking up with another man, he's the fella' who as Budget Director for President Bush suggested that the Iraq War would cost a mere $50 billion and that the multiple tax cuts that benefited the wealthiest 1% would pay for themselves. And nothing personal - he's not good looking enough to be a modern day president.
Rep. Paul Ryan - wants to keep the name Medicare, but change it to a voucher plan. This would give Democrats Florida and a virtual electoral college slam dunk.
Governor Chris Christie - besides his being driven 100 yards from his state owned helicopter in the outfield to the bleechers of his sons baseball game, only one week later he was hospitalized with an asthma attack. His weight and general health must be a factor. And how can he get past his own statement, "I'm not ready to be President."
Governor Jeb Bush - President Obama has been vilified for the mere mention of the disaster that was the economic policies of President George Bush. But if Jeb enters the race.....that wound will be reopened. It will be a long time before another Bush could become president.
Governor(s) Mike Huckabee & Haley Barbour - "Pardon me for pardoning murderers."
Governor McDonnell - repeat after me "Transvaginal ultrasound."
Senator Marco Rubio - lets get past his money management troubles and his fraudulent biography of his parents being exiled from Cuba (while already living in the United States). Let's add on the idea that 'Birthers' would not consider him to be a natural born citizen since both his parents were from Cuba. We have also learned that he was baptized a Mormon before returning to the Catholic Church. I'm not sure he's 'pure' enough for the GOP base.
Senator Rand Paul - he might not get the nod for the top spot, but if Rep. Ron Paul 'released' his delegates to Governor Romney in exchange for placing Rand Paul in the V.P. slot.....this idea will be in the headlines as we see more indications of Romney/Paul friendliness.......
Talk with me. What are your thoughts? Who did I miss??
