It went down in flames in Virginia only to pop up again in Alabama. Alabama is being a little more up-front about its intentions. Senator Clay Scofield (R) says the ultrasound is needed to help stop some abortions. Looking at the ultrasound image doesn't change people's minds, as studies have shown, but Senator Scofield is not to be distracted by the facts.

Why can't the Intrusive Vaginal Assault Bill stay dead? Too many control freaks thinking their personal religion means they have a God-given right and duty to control other people. The state better not interfere with the church, no way, nohow, but if the church wants to influence and legislate religion using the state, why that's peachy.

If we do live in a multiverse (http://physics.about.com/...) that means that somewhere, somewhen, sanity has already prevailed. I like to imagine that universe when this one manifests surreal thinking that refuses to be reasoned with. It's like a little vacation to "Women Are People" Land.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    and think about pussy!
And no one can stop them!

I think that's the attraction of this whole project to these very sick men, who surely need to get laid and just as surely don't deserve to.

    It's not a fake orgasm; it's a real yawn.

I am a dude. Take my wife, girlfriend, family member and do this shit, insert something in her without her approval, you and I will have a conversation. It will not be a fun conversation.

Let's have no discrimination here, let us have equal opportunity assaults on people.  Let's get a proper large anal probe and have a mandatory colonoscopy when male patients come in for their vasectomy. Why/ Because we can. If we are Republican state legislators and want to terrorize women, let's show we are not simply abusing women, let's abuse men too.  Charge them for a colonoscopy, if we find some polyps, cauterize those and create a little business for the gastro/hepato specialty.

Of course, colonoscopy is not really of much value unless some sypmtoms show up befoer age 50, after   every 10 years is the current suggestion. So a 40 year old wanting to have a vasectomy really doesn't get any benefit from a colonoscopy except an "All clear".

Katie Curic's husband Jay, did die  age 44  from complications of colorectal cancer, so there was a reason to be checked, if the suspicion was  followed up earlier.

The real problem is a Legislator doing nothing but following the machinations and fantasy of an ideologue  from the religious wackjobs and trying to dictate medical policy.

This is a mandatory procedure, regardless of necessity. There is no necessity or imperative to have a procedure
except the mandate from Republicans.  Medicine forced by politicians.  What if there is a complication and a woman dies from it?  Will there be a lawsuit, a malpractice suit?  Will it be capped as a tort, limited to 250,000 dollars?  What about every single legislator who voted to approve this? would they be individually liable when that happened?

Why stop there? what is a mother, as sister, a wife worth. What is the penalty if a completely unnecessary procedure is done that results in her death?

I would think the money is the least part of it.  I would be out for blood if it was my wife or my sister or my daughter.  Out after every grinning fat jackarse of a nodding estatic Republican troglodyte pretending they have a clue about life and politics. Them. In person, paying back a blood debt.

This is beyond rationality, beyond stupidity.  I would get payback. An "I'm sorry, I didn't know - "wouldn't even have the time to get out their mouths.

You do a version of imposing your own Sharia law with Christ substituting for Mohammed in our secular governance  you take your chances.  Blowback is a bitch.

If you think that you and a bunch of other people can just show up on Wall St, camp out and have any effect whatsoever.... well, you will be run off in 20 minutes., you will leave town having wasted your effort 6/18/11.
