It went down in flames in Virginia only to pop up again in Alabama. Alabama is being a little more up-front about its intentions. Senator Clay Scofield (R) says the ultrasound is needed to help stop some abortions. Looking at the ultrasound image doesn't change people's minds, as studies have shown, but Senator Scofield is not to be distracted by the facts.

Why can't the Intrusive Vaginal Assault Bill stay dead? Too many control freaks thinking their personal religion means they have a God-given right and duty to control other people. The state better not interfere with the church, no way, nohow, but if the church wants to influence and legislate religion using the state, why that's peachy.
If we do live in a multiverse (http://physics.about.com/...) that means that somewhere, somewhen, sanity has already prevailed. I like to imagine that universe when this one manifests surreal thinking that refuses to be reasoned with. It's like a little vacation to "Women Are People" Land.
