Looks like Andrew Breitbart died of natural causes last night.
All I know is what it says here on his site (and have seen enough tweets by now confirming it to think it's real and not a hacked Web site):

Not much of a diary, true, but it's all I have. Discuss. (But please, let's keep it decent. Don't use this as an excuse to kick the dead, regardless of what he said/did. He's gone now, apparently.)
6:35 AM PT: Several news organizations, including ABC and Politico, have independently confirmed that Breitbart died at UCLA Medical Center "shortly after midnight" (Pacific time, presumably) early this morning.
6:46 AM PT: Further down the page, I answer a question about when it's OK to start trashing the guy, and figure it needs to be up here as well:
Maybe tomorrow -- but today a family has lost a loved one. Let's be better than his side would be if, say, Kos died. You can only imagine the raucous joy the RWers would exude. We should be better than that.
(And let's hope it's a very, very long time 'til we have to worry about Markos not being around -- just seemed like the logical analogy.)
Just sayin', folks...
8:15 AM PT: LA Times says Breitbart collapsed while walking near his home last night. Doesn't flatly say he died of a heart attack but does refer to past such issues:

12:04 PM PT: Kossack doesnotworkorplaywellwithothers passed along this interesting related link which features reaction from the various candidates, both current and former, for the 2012 GOP nomination.
