Mitt Romney
And with his flip-flop yesterday, Mitt Romney is walking the plank too

The Senate is scheduled to vote at 11 AM ET today (update: now they're saying 11:30, apparently) on the Blunt amendment to overturn President Obama's birth control coverage mandate. This being the Senate, you never know if they'll keep to their schedule, but one thing we do know is that most Republicans are firmly on the wrong side of this issue.
Public Policy Polling for Daily Kos & SEIU. 2/16-19. Registered voters. MoE ±3.1% (no trendlines):

Q: Do you think employers should be allowed to deny health care coverage to their employees for doctor-recommended health care services if those services are contrary to the employer’s religious beliefs or moral convictions, or do you think all workers should be allowed access to all doctor-recommended health care services, regardless of their employer’s beliefs?

Employers should be allowed to deny coverage based on their beliefs ..........25%

All workers should be allowed to access health care services regardless
of their employer’s beliefs
......................................................................... 67%

Not sure .................................................................................................... 8%

Those numbers shouldn't be a shock: most people believe that this is an issue for individuals and families to decide in consultation with their doctors. Most Republicans—including Mitt Romney after his record-breaking flip-flop on the issue—want to give employers the legal authority to make moral and religious judgments about whether their employees have access to birth control.

Republicans and Mitt Romney are wrong. Democrats and President Obama are right.

Email your senators and tell them to stand up for women and vote no on the Blunt Amendment.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
